Love & Devotion (6 of 21)

Romans 8:38-39 "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."
-Convinced to Stay Connected

At the start of a new week of labor, I have a very little to say about this passage. But don't allow the short length of this Love & Devotion to minimize the strength of it.

Paul is writing to the church at Rome, in an extremely encouraging tone. He was convinced, based on his personal experiences with God to stay connected to his love, no matter what! Nothing was going to change Paul's mind about God.

Let's look at this in two facets, Paul's Declaration and God's Revelation.

1) Paul definitively declares, that he's not going to allow himself or anyone else, not hell or heaven for that matter, not fears or worries to move him from his choice. Here's what worth pondering over, doe's your Sunday declarations match your Monday actions? I'm urging you to boldly do what you say! Your connection to God's love is what keeps you alive, so convincing you to stick with God shouldn't be difficult to do.

2) God's revelation of his love for us, was done in grand fashion. Jesus' death is what let us know that God loves the world for real. The only fact that I want to give you about that is, love isn't meant to be buried but it should be displayed. Jesus died and was buried in a grave, but something as precious as love can't be cooled off in the darkness of the grave. Jesus showed off God's love for us by dying, which displayed how fearless his love for us is but the resurrection showed us how strong his love for us is. Thank God that he showed (Romans 5:8) us his love and the reason that we ought to be convinced that staying connected to him must be our declaration. I don't know about ya'll, but Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me!
